Frequently asked questions
- How much does the average person spend on subscriptions?
- Studies consistently show people underestimate their subscription spending by 40–80%. The average household in the US spends over $200 per month across streaming, software, fitness, news, and cloud services — often without realising it because the charges are spread across different billing dates and currencies.
- Is the calculator free? Do I need an account?
- Completely free, and no account is required. Open the calculator, add your subscriptions, and see the results immediately. There is nothing to sign up for.
- Is my data private?
- Yes. The calculator runs entirely in your browser — no data is sent to a server. If you use the share link, the subscription details are encoded directly in the URL itself, so only whoever you share the link with can see them.
- Which currencies does it support?
- You can enter each subscription in any of the supported currencies (USD, EUR, GBP, UAH, PLN, and more). The calculator fetches live exchange rates and converts everything to your chosen home currency so all totals are comparable.
- How is the yearly or 5-year figure calculated?
- Each subscription's billing cycle (weekly, monthly, yearly, or custom) is normalised to a true annual cost — for example, a weekly charge is multiplied by 52. All annual costs are summed to give the yearly total, and the 5-year figure is that sum multiplied by 5. It is a flat projection that does not account for price changes.
